How to use a move-out checklist after a tenant vacates a rental property
Turnovers can be a lot of work for landlords!
Whenever a tenant moves out, there is a lot that needs to be taken care of:
- Getting keys back
- Re-keying and securing the property
- Transferring utilities
- Getting the property rent ready
- Handling and returning the security deposit
- Advertising
- Screening tenants and re-leasing the property
- Etc.
If you’re not careful, any one of these items could easily slip through the cracks and drive up costs or vacancy time.
That’s why using a checklist is so important! In this video we discuss the move out checklist that we use every time a tenant moves out.
